2004 Ultramax Octane
My younger sister, Makenzie, recently started racing go karts. She races the 26M at Nagle Speedway and absolutely loves it. At first it didn't interest me all that much because I was never the racing type. I usually just liked to watch and be my sister's pit crew with my dad. Just the usual cleaning tires, pushing the kart up to the track, and helping her and my dad with whatever else they needed me to do. But from being at the track so often, and watching her race, made me want to give it a try. And I figured, why not?
I was given the chance to drive one of my friends go karts the night my sister first did, and even though I didn't know it yet, I wanted to race. when I told my parents this they weren't too sure because, again, I was never really the racing type.
This year my dad bought an Ultramax Octane chassis for me. The color of the kart is lime green and my number is the 20 (see pictures in gallery). I will be in the gold restrictor plate class even though I'm just a rookie. I haven't started racing just yet, but I hope to get a few races in this season just to practice for next year.
I know that my family will be out at the track each Saturday night cheering me on like they do my sister. And of course, my sister and I are going to support each other no matter what, win or lose.
